Vayando was built by two people with a deep and slightly inconvenient love of going places. Here's what drives us, and why it shapes every journey we design.
We're Fred and Natasha Hopkins, and the honest answer to "why did you start a travel agency?" is that we never really stopped traveling long enough to consider any other option.
Between us, we've cruised the Caribbean, traced the coastlines of northern Europe from England to France, explored archaeological wonders in Peru, crossed sand dunes in Cabo, and found ourselves in enough out-of-the-way corners to know that the best travel rarely follows the obvious route.
Fred's pull has always been toward discovery: the ancient site, the question that only a place can answer, the road that turns out to be more interesting than the destination. Natasha's is toward the layered and the beautiful, toward places that reward taking your time, where slowing down reveals something a rushed itinerary never could.
Together, we've learned that the most memorable trips tend to hold both.
That instinct is what Vayando is built on.

There's a particular feeling that comes from standing somewhere and realizing you've only just begun to understand it. The Nazca Lines seen from above. The scale of Angkor Wat at first light. The moment a local guide tells you something about a place that reframes everything you thought you knew. We design trips around that feeling.

Not every trip needs to be physically demanding. But the best ones usually ask something of you. A Zodiac landing on the Antarctic shore. A dawn drive through the Serengeti during the Great Migration. A hike into a canyon that isn't on the map yet. The experiences that remind you what it feels like to be genuinely, fully awake.

Travel is not always about doing. Some of the best moments are the ones where you have absolutely nowhere to be — a long afternoon on a ship's deck watching the coastline pass, an evening in a small town with no agenda, a morning that begins slowly and stays that way. We build that space into every itinerary on purpose.

We have no philosophical objection to a great room, a perfectly timed meal, or the kind of service that anticipates what you need before you ask. Travel should challenge you. It should also take care of you.
Every trip we design starts with what you want to feel, not just where you want to go. Discovery, adventure, rest, the occasional stretch of genuine comfort — most worthwhile journeys have some of all of it. Our job is to figure out the right balance for you and build an itinerary around that.
We specialize in expedition and luxury cruising, heritage and historical travel, and group and multigenerational journeys. Not because these are trending, but because they're the kinds of travel that deliver on all four of those motivations at once. They're also the kinds of trips that reward having someone who knows them deeply; the right ship, the right guides, the right season, the right access.
We're not a booking engine. We're advisors who happen to have spent a lot of time in the places you're thinking about going.
