Traditional Weaving and Craft with Sister Crescence
Rwanda is full of talented artisans making a wide range of fantastic crafts. This experience not only benefits local artisans, but also supports the Groupe Scolaire Rosa Mystica, a school that supports children with special needs and their families.
As part of the school's diverse approach, Sister Crescence has helped create a cooperative of women artisans who make traditional sisal baskets, furniture and cards from banana tree fibers, sewn crafts, paper craft, soap, and more.
This experience will provide you the chance to try your hand at several of the crafts produced by the cooperative. Sister Crescence will also share the school's progressive methodology, principles, vision, and the driving forces behind their work with children with disabilities and special needs.
