The Women's Bakery

  1. Kigali, Rwanda

The Women’s Bakery is a social enterprise that educates, employs, and empowers women. Our model fuses education and business so that women are trained to work in a bakery setting. We have four bakeries in Rwanda and operate these so that they can be profitable and so that women can earn income for gainful, sustainable employment.

After the bakery launches our team continues to work on-site with women as the bakery grows, providing additional training, infrastructure support, and managerial oversight. Our goal is a sustainable, profitable bakery that empowers women, their families, and their community. Women who work in TWB bakeries can double and sometimes quadruple their pre-bakery incomes.

That’s bread power.
